Helping you feel your best through therapeutic and relaxation massage

New Covid-19 Massage Protocols

Hello Blue Turtle Family!

I hope this finds you and your family in good health. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: my commitment to your health and safety. By its very nature, massage & bodywork requires skin-to-skin contact and because of that, I have amped up my cleaning and disinfecting procedures and will be allowing more time between appointments specifically for that. As we all navigate life with additional requirements and modify existing measures due to the coronavirus, you will see a new “normal" moving forward. I understand change can be hard, but everything implemented is for all of our safety.

My practice follows Practice Guidelines recommended by the Federal of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB), along with infection control recommendations made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

You will see some changes when it is is time for your next appointment. These changes have been made to help protect all of my clients and myself. For example:

•    I will communicate with you prior to your appointment to go over any updates to your health information and ask you specifically about your potential exposure to Covid-19.

•    When you arrive at the office, I’ll ask that you text me that you’ve arrived and wait in your vehicle until I call or text you to come inside. This ensures that we don’t have any overlap of appointments.

•    I will greet you at the door of Blue Turtles Suite and use a no touch thermal temperature screening to ensure that you don’t have a fever.

•    Please bring a face mask to use while you are in the building, and during your massage. If your forget to bring one, I will have disposable masks to use. A mask will be required to receive a massage. I will be wearing a mask as well.

•    I will ask you to sign an informed consent form that states, “I understand that close contact with people increases the risk of infection from Covid-19. By signing this form, I acknowledge that I am aware of the risks involved and give consent to receive massage from this practitioner. “

•    There is a hand-hygiene station that I will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find hand sanitizers throughout the office for your use.

•    The CDC indicates that these underlying conditions place people at higher risk for severe illness from Covid-19 (People 65 years or older, Chronic lung disease, Moderate to Severe Asthma, Heart Conditions, Compromised or Suppressed Immunity, Severe Obesity, Diabetes, Chronic Kidney Disease & Liver Disease). It has been advised that unless directed by the client’s primary care doctor, clients at higher risk of severe illness from Covid-19 should forgo massage while the virus is present in the community.

•    Friends & Family of the client are not allowed to wait in the reception area while client receives massage, unless they are that client’s legal guardian.

•    The CDC suggests the Covid-19 infected respiratory droplets can be dispersed when people talk. For this reason, talking is limited to communication about pressure, warmth, and comfort while in the enclosed space of the session room.

•    In regards to traveling, there will be a wait period before I will see clients. If you have traveled I'm asking you please wait 2 weeks before coming in for a massage.

As always, if you are sick or not feeling well please stay home. Also if someone in your household or someone you’ve had close contact with is sick, please stay home.. If you have allergies and can’t control sneezing,  please stay home. In any of these cases, please stay home and reschedule your appointment for a later date. Coming in sick IS NOT AN OPTION going forward, ever. Please and Thank you!
Thank you for your patience and for being my client. I value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back to a safe, therapeutic touch environment. And, I am happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps I am taking to keep you, and every client safe in my practice.

***UPDATE*** In regards to getting the vaccine, please don't come in same day as your massage. A minimum of 2 days is suggested. A week is recommended due to people having different responses at different times.

If you have tested positive for Covid-19, for your safety we may need to reschedule your massage. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!
